Mendeltje van Keulen leads the research group 'The Changing role of Europe' at The Hague University of Applied Sciences as a lecturer (professor in practice) and is a guest researcher at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She speaks and writes for (future) professionals about the opportunities for getting a grip on European policy. The European Union (EU) is a common thread throughout Mendeltje's career, so if there is anyone who can give an insight into the inner workings of the EU, it will be Mendeltje. In this interview, Hans van den Berg, President of The Young Diplomat, and Mendeltje van Keulen discuss different elements of negotiation and policy-making within the European Union.
